Arugula – also known as rocket in the UK and rucola in Italy – is a member of the Brassica family valued for its distinctive peppery, slightly nutty flavour. Watania Farms produces arugula in controlled hydroponic systems, delivering consistent leaf quality, vibrant green colour, and the signature flavour profile demanded by export and gourmet food service markets.

Arugula is one of the fastest-growing salad greens, reaching harvest maturity in just 35-50 days from seeding. It is a cool-season brassica sensitive to heat, which can cause bolting and excessive bitterness. In our hydroponic facility, precise temperature control prevents bolting and produces consistently sized, well-flavoured leaves suitable for premium market positioning.
Arugula is as versatile as it is distinctive - at home in simple salads, on gourmet pizza, or as a peppery finish on pastas and grilled dishes.
Toss with shaved parmesan, toasted pine nuts, lemon juice, and good olive oil for a classic Italian-inspired salad.
Add a generous handful of fresh arugula after a pizza comes out of the oven for a peppery, fresh contrast.
Toss through hot pasta off the heat - the residual heat wilts the leaves slightly without cooking them.
Use as a punchy alternative to lettuce in sandwiches. Pairs especially well with prosciutto and mozzarella.
